Evelyn's Newborn Studio Session

I am so excited to finally share baby Evelyn’s newborn session. She is the sweetest little thing, and I know how anxiously her parents awaited her arrival. You may remember mama’s gorgeous maternity session that I posted back in June. We had a fun session dedicated to making mom feel special and documenting that sweet time waiting for baby. As a working mom, she loved that I had dresses and a hair and makeup artist ready for her at the studio so that all she needed to do to prepare was show up. When the family returned to our New Jersey studio for Evelyn’s session, Carol told me that she was excited to work with my recommended hair and makeup artist again.

The family was originally only looking for maternity and newborn sessions but fell in love with the idea of our first-year collective/portrait membership. Having a membership takes the pressure of documenting off of mama and ensures that she can slow down and enjoy each beautiful stage of new motherhood. Our new program also includes an album credit after each session so that we can build a beautiful album at the end of baby’s first year with all of the favorite images.

For this session, dad showed off his cool sense of style by bringing a hat and accessories that we were able to incorporate in a few of the images. I love knowing that Evelyn will look back on these family portraits and see her dad and his personality shine through. It is so clear that this mom and dad are in love both with each other and with their little girl. You can see the joy on their faces as they look at her. This is what makes me so happy in my profession. I love helping families to preserve this joy.

We will meet again in a few months for Evelyn’s next set of portraits, and to complete their one-of-a-kind heirloom album. Mom, dad, and I will go through our favorite images from the year and create a piece that is both gorgeous and built to last. It has been such an honor to document this family’s story, and I can’t wait to give them this album that they will be able to treasure as a family for years to come.
