Short Hills NJ Newborn Photographer
Welcoming a new baby into your family is a season filled with emotion, adjustment, and overwhelming love. If you’re searching for a Short Hills NJ newborn photographer who creates light, joyful, and timeless family portraits — while making the experience feel effortless — you’re in the right place.
This beautiful family of five recently visited my Maplewood studio (just 10 minutes from Short Hills) to celebrate the arrival of baby Lily — their third daughter. It was a session filled with cuddles, giggles, and the kind of genuine connection that makes newborn portraits so meaningful. When Short Hills families are looking for a newborn photographer, they’re often searching for something very specific: light-filled images, natural connection, and an experience that feels calm — even with toddlers in the mix.
A Short Drive from Short Hills to My Maplewood Newborn Studio
Many families are surprised how close my studio is to Short Hills — it’s typically about a 10-minute drive, making it incredibly convenient during those early postpartum weeks.
The studio is designed to feel calm, bright, and welcoming. Everything is prepared before you arrive:
Soft, neutral backdrops
Wrapped newborn setups ready to go
Wardrobe options steamed and styled
A cozy space for toddlers to feel comfortable
When you walk in, nothing feels chaotic. It feels easy.
For families expecting their first or third baby, that peace matters.

A Family I’ve Watched Grow: From First Birthdays to Baby #3
One of the greatest honors in my work as a newborn photographer serving Short Hills families is being invited back again and again.
I first photographed Maddie during her first birthday studio session. Then came Ella’s newborn portraits. Then Ella’s first birthday. And now — baby Lily.
This was Maddie’s fourth time in my studio.
At four years old, she walked in confident, excited, and completely at ease in front of the camera. When children remember me, remember the space, and feel comfortable, it transforms the session. There’s no warming up period. There’s joy from the start.
Seeing their family grow from one little girl to three is exactly why I do what I do.
Styling Made Simple: Wardrobe for Mom, Sisters, and Dad
One of the biggest stressors for families planning newborn photos is: What do we wear?
For this session:
Mom wore a studio wardrobe gown selected during her planning appointment.
Ella wore a piece from the studio collection as well.
Mom brought a beautiful light pink dress for Maddie that photographed perfectly.
I helped guide Dad’s styling so everything felt cohesive and classic.
Because we planned in advance, everything felt effortless the morning of the session.
Short Hills families love the ability to pop in before baby arrives for a quick planning consultation — mom can try on dresses, we select sibling outfits, and we design the session together. When session day arrives, there’s no second guessing.
It simply unfolds beautifully.
Photographing Toddlers with a Newborn: Gentle, Playful, Real
Photographing a newborn with two toddlers requires experience — not luck.
With over a decade of photographing young children, I know how to create:
Calm, camera-aware sibling portraits
Gentle, classic family groupings
Playful in-between moments that reflect real personality
Maddie loves the camera and proudly cuddled her baby sister. Ella, still very young and full of energy, needed a different approach — movement, interaction, quick transitions, and plenty of positive reinforcement.
The result?
A gallery filled with both polished wall-worthy portraits and authentic moments that show exactly what this season of life feels like.
The evolving relationships between the girls. The softness in mom’s expression. Dad surrounded by daughters.
Those are the images that matter most.
A Gallery Designed Around Your Family
This was a larger gallery because I knew mom wanted variety — and with three children, there are so many beautiful combinations.
Some families prefer a very curated collection. Others love a wide range of portraits and interactions.
Because I carefully shoot and cull with intention, I can design a gallery that fits each family’s preferences without it ever feeling overwhelming.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach — only what feels right for your family.
Why Short Hills Families Choose a Studio Newborn Session
While I do photograph in-home newborn sessions for Short Hills families who prefer that setting, many choose the studio for one simple reason:
It’s easier.
No cleaning the house.
No rearranging furniture.
No worrying about light.
Just arrive. Be taken care of. Leave with beautiful images.
And afterward? Many families make a little morning of it — grabbing coffee or an easy lunch nearby at Olivia’s before heading home with their sleepy newborn and happy toddlers.
It becomes a memory, not just a photoshoot.
