Welcome, baby Conrad!

Life is busy when you have little ones and are expecting a third baby, not to mention overseeing major home renovations. (This in home session actually took place in the family’s Short Hills rental home, as they were waiting for their forever home to be completed.) To make things even easier for mom I coordinated for my preferrred hair and make up artist to prepare her the morning of our session prior to my arrival, and made sure everyone had beautiful, well coordinated outfits for a cohesive look.

Prior to the session, we met at our photography studio to look through wardrobe options for mom and the older children. Mom chose a few dress options that she liked for her self and two dresses for her big sister, Lily. When it comes to toddlers, I like to present them with two or three options that I am okay with, rather than letting them have their pick of the lot. I loved the soft and neutral color tones that she chose for everyone. My preferred hair and makeup artist came by in the morning so that Mom could be pampered as I started working with Conrad.

This mom likes photos that feel natural and unposed. She does not like portraits where her children feel forced or insincere with their smiles. It was so fun to document the children together. They will be able to look back and see where their life-long relationships began.

I brought studio lights to ensure that the images were bright and crisp, regardless of the natural light available. Some spaces in this Short Hills home had lovely light, and others were a bit darker. Can you tell which images were photographed with natural light versus studio strobe?
