In-Home Newborn Session for Sam | NJ Family Photographer
You may remember Mallorie and David from their beautiful maternity session in our NJ portrait studio. We were all so excited to meet baby Sam and are clearly in love with her!
Dad David is a Daytime Emmy Award-winning creator of custom puppets. He is incredibly creative and has such a great sense of humor. He and Mallorie have a gorgeous style: their outfits and home are impeccable.
We spent most of the session in Sam’s nursery. Mom and dad put so much love and thought into this special room of their Maplewood, NJ home. Not only was it beautifully decorated, but the nursery also had amazing natural light. We used the master bedroom for a more neutral backdrop, as well as the bed for cuddly photos. For dad’s portraits with Sam, I wanted dramatic light. I knew that David would be sweet and silly with his baby girl, and I wanted to showcase his expressive emotions. He didn’t disappoint. I can’t get over all of the sweet faces that Sam made throughout the session, and how perfectly David connected with her for some truly memorable images that document their family so well.
My hairstylist visited Mallorie just before my arrival for a beautiful blowout with soft curls. As of February 2022, all new first-year collective members receive complimentary hair and makeup services for each of their sessions. If you are looking to book just one signature session, you can easily add this to your service. If you choose to have your session in the studio, it will be provided complimentary.
Mom was excited about our studio wardrobe, but also wanted to incorporate a personal family look, so she had sweet coordinating embroidered outfits made. Mallorie chose a few of our gowns ahead of time; one was a white Rachel Pally dress that flows beautifully. It elevates her images from newborn photos to motherhood portraits but is not so fancy that she doesn’t feel like herself.
Baby Sam will be coming into the studio for Celebration Sessions at 6 months and her first birthday. We also have one more Signature Session scheduled for outdoors in the fall. I am so excited to continue documenting memories of this fun-loving family.
