Classic Studio Baby Portraits for Winter Rebel | NJ Family Photography Studio
I have been capturing portraits for this adorable family ever since their son was born 6 years ago. Little sister, Winter Rebel, was born during a time when most of us were not leaving the house, so mama was eager to celebrate their playful baby girl with some beautiful, classic portraits. I am so excited to do a full family session with them this summer in the warm weather. Winter was a very much wanted rainbow baby, so mama wanted this studio session to be all about Rebel’s beautiful spirit and sweetness.
Our New Jersey family portrait studio has everything you need to create gorgeous memories for you to treasure. All that you need to do is show up with the baby. We have a client wardrobe for the entire family, and our classic sessions now include complimentary hair and makeup for one, which all of the mamas are loving. During your pre-session styling and artwork planning appointment, you’ll be able to see all of the beautiful wardrobe pieces we offer and pick out the looks that are perfect for your vision.
Mom didn’t want to be in many of the portraits for this session since we were planning on a full family session a few months later. I always recommend that mamas jump in at least a few frames of their baby or child portraits, so we went ahead and chose her a lovely neutral dress from the client wardrobe. Those mommy-daughter portraits turned out beautiful, but mama requested that we keep those private for just her and Rebel, and I am always happy to accommodate privacy requests.
Mama wanted primarily bright, white, clean images focused on baby Winter’s sweetness. Her soft light blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, and beautiful smile made these portraits absolutely gorgeous. We chose two outfits for Winter from our NJ studio wardrobe that is available to all clients. Each outfit is custom made and has a sweet matching bow for baby girl’s hair. Mama loved all of the girly options that were available to borrow as well as classic props like these wooden blocks. She was also looking for dramatic black and white portraits, so we worked with my hand-painted canvas backdrop from Oliphant Studios out of Brooklyn, NY to create the images that you see with darker tones. Darker background and dramatic light create such timeless pieces that will look as beautiful on the wall today as they will 50 years from now.
It is always a good time for portraits. Winter was around 18 months here. While first or second birthdays are more traditional times for portraits, we welcome babies and children of all ages and feel there is no time like the present to celebrate your beautiful children.
