Parker’s 6 Month Baby Portraits | Hoboken New Jersey Family Photographer
I am delighted to share the second of three photography sessions done to artfully document Parker’s first year. (You might remember her newborn photography session in her beautiful Hoboken home, which I posted about here.) Her parents had a wonderful vision for a trio of portraits for Parker’s nursery wall showing her at different stages of her first year of life. For this six-month baby milestone session, I knew her parents would want a portrait of Parker sitting sweetly to beautifully document this time. To keep the palate for all three sessions cohesive, I worked with mom to coordinate the family’s outfits. She has excellent taste; the white ensembles she selected for their family portraits are timeless and beautifully compliment the newborn photo from our first session.
For most of my sessions, I tend to stick to only one location, but I was happy to work with this Portrait Membership family to ensure we achieved the specific vision we had for their growing gallery wall and a first year baby album.
We started this overcast fall day in New Jersey at Parker’s home in her parents' primary bedroom. While most of the session was going to be outdoors, I suggested we use mom and dad’s bed to creating the sitting milestone portrait for Parker’s growing gallery wall. Working indoors ensured Parker was happy and comfortable, and allowed me to control lighting, temperature, and schedule the session without too much concern for weather. After our session they selected the gorgeous portrait you see above for custom framing and I absolutely adore that you can see Parker’s name on her beautiful embroidered dress. To make the selection process incredibly easy I used computer software to show Parker’s parents how perfectly the image will look on the wall of their home beside the framed print currently handing from their newborn photography session.
Once I knew I had created the sitting portrait we envisioned, we headed right outside their Hoboken home to create family portraits and some beautiful lifestyle images that would be perfect in Parker’s end of first year baby album. Weather is always a tricky element to deal with for an outdoor session, so you may notice that the light changes throughout this session, even resulting in varying shades of green. We were so lucky to have lovely, warm temperatures and everybody had a beautiful time.
Parker is a delightful and well-tempered baby. She gave lots of adorable faces during our portrait session and clearly adores her parents. She loves to snuggle dad, give big smiles, and stick her tongue out in fun. I am certain the whole family will be flooded with warm, happy feelings when viewing these images together through the years.
A note: spring and fall are my busiest time of year and often book out 3-4 months in advance, but membership clients are always given priority.
