Fall Family Photos in Northern New Jersey

Now that winter is in full swing, I think we are all ready for a little warmth, right? This fall, I found a new location near Short Hills, NJ, that I absolutely love. It is full of the most beautiful fall foliage.

So the question is, when should you book your fall family photo session?

I already have three families scheduled for this new location for the fall of 2023, so if you are looking for the best outdoor family photographer in Northern NJ for fall family portraits, the time to reach out is now. Yes, NOW! There are times that we are able to book last minute; however, fall is always the first to book out, and we only accept a limited number of clients to ensure we have room to accommodate reschedules due to sickness, rain, and cold. I love this Essex County location because it’s simply bright fall foliage. A week before this session, there was tons of color, but even then, on the other side is a lake with tall grass and lots of open skies. This creates a lot of variety for families who love documenting their young children in a fun and playful way.

This mom is a hard-working attorney, so it was super important to me to create some photos of her and Jack that document their beautiful relationship. Dad is absolutely obsessed with Jack as well, and his love for his little boy just oozes out. It was so fun to watch them play and snuggle, and even more fun to document it.

Besides his relationships with his parents, I really wanted to capture the spirit and sweetness of what it’s like to be three. I’m always looking for a twinkle in the eye, a laugh, a look, or even a little mischief. All of the things that make Jack, Jack, and all of the little details that his mom and dad will want to remember about this sweet and energetic time.

This family’s home currently has three framed 11x14 fine art prints in their home, each with their favorite family portrait from that year’s session. I’m currently finalizing the details of this year’s print choice (our fourth annual session)! Which do you think they chose?
