Maternity photographer Essex County | Lara’s Outdoor Maternity Session in NYC

This is the dreamiest, most organic maternity session I have ever had the pleasure of photographing in the park. I love maternity sessions with couples expecting their first baby, and of course I love family maternity sessions where they are eagerly awaiting a new baby, but there is nothing quite like connecting with just mom, in a beautiful place, while she wears a beautiful dress, and I guide her so she is bathed in gorgeous light. This type of maternity session gives mom some quiet time to connect with her baby and reflect on her motherhood journey, and of course, we are also celebrating how beautiful she is to be growing a baby.

I encourage all clients, whether in New Jersey or New York, to meet with me in person or via Zoom so we can get to know one another and discuss the client’s vision for the final portraits. Wardrobe planning is also a large part of the session preparation process, and clients are always welcome to view and try on dresses from the studio wardrobe to see if there is anything they may want to borrow for their session. Lara selected a creamy embroidered dress from my studio wardrobe to wear for her maternity portrait session. The soft, organic color of the dress in the lush park created romantic, ethereal images for this beautiful mother of two. We waited for the perfect golden hour light in early September, and stayed out until dusk when the light is moodier, which I also adore.
