Welcome Home, Averie
I am very excited to share sweet Averie’s newborn session. Her lovely moms live down the street from our Maplewood, New Jersey studio and happened to see it when they were out on a stroll one day. The mamas came in for a pre-session consultation to meet me, view the studio, select wardrobe, and view album samples and cover swatches. The mamas both chose maxi dresses with a soft, sweet feel.
Mama Paige loves images that are bright, light, and airy. She said that my style is exactly what she was looking for. They knew that they wanted to do a birth announcement and were leaning towards doing a photo album since they are in an apartment and don’t have much wall space for framed prints.
While most of my newborn sessions take place when the baby is around one week old, Averie’s was a bit later. In Josie’s culture, it is customary for the mother to stay home with baby for the first month after birth. To honor this, we scheduled Averie’s session for just after her first month birthday. Older babies are often more awake, and I just adore seeing their sweet expressions and the beautiful eye connection with their parents. It was so nice to work with Josie and Paige because they were open to recommendations on poses and the layout of an album.
Most clients choose to work with me because I assist them with the final step of transforming the images we created together into tangible art that they can enjoy and share with their children. Almost all newborn clients want an album so that they can remember this sweet time. When investing in an album, clients add their digital files for archiving and small personal printing, such as birth announcements.
I’ve laid out the photos on this post in a way that shows what an entire newborn album looks like from beginning to end. These albums are a beautiful way to document the newborn stage, and I hope you love them as much as I do!
