I love when New Jersey families commission me to create printed artwork for the walls of their gorgeous homes. For this newborn photography session in Hoboken, NJ we began with exactly this goal in mind. Mom envisioned three framed portraits beside each other containing a newborn image, a six month milestone portrait, and a clean and classic baby portrait from her daughter’s first birthday session. Mom and Dad trusted my recommendations for styling, editing, and framing, and the results are gorgeous artwork on the walls of their Hoboken home.

Our beautiful, stress-free newborn photography experience allows parents to relax during their session, which helps me to create those soft, natural newborn photos our clients love to hang on the walls of their home. We help clients look their best so they can focus on the tiny details of their newborn and truly be present with their loved ones. For this session, my preferred hair and makeup artist arrived that morning to prep Mom. When I arrived, Mom looked rested and stunning, and she was ready to view and try on the three dresses we pre-selected during our planning consultation. While Mom dressed I was able to begin photographing her sweet baby girl Parker.

When planning artwork for your home that will intentionally build over multiple sessions it’s important to keep a cohesive look. While many clients style themselves beautifully during milestone and family sessions, it can be trickier to know what to wear for newborn sessions, so the studio wardrobe is a wonderful resource. Everything I have for newborn photography sessions is very flattering, photographs beautifully, and has soft tones that enhance images with a timeless feel.

Beautiful light is essential for beautiful framed artwork. For each in home newborn photography session I arrive with studio lighting so that I can add light and achieve beautiful soft light. In this luxury building near the Hoboken waterfront, however, the floor-to-ceiling windows provided plenty of natural light and flash was not used.
