Marissa’s Studio Maternity Session

Marissa is an absolutely stunning mother-to-be. She is a South Orange, NJ, local who found the studio as she was walking by. She was pregnant with her third baby at the time and had never had any maternity photos taken. Marissa didn’t like having her photo taken, but she had always wanted to document this special stage in her life. She decided to reach out, and I am so glad that she did.

We were able to talk through her goals and her worries and decided to book a celebration session. Marissa had a very specific vision in mind for her maternity session. I love bringing my clients’ visions to life. During our pre-session consultation, she explained that she wanted portraits done in two looks: a formal dress and a casual outfit. We talked through outfit options, and I love the looks that she chose.

Marissa’s hair and makeup were done in the studio prior to the session. Hair and makeup is a service that most of my clients use. Being able to show up to your session and be completely pampered is such a treat. I want my clients to feel their absolute best in their portraits. We rescheduled Marissa’s session once due to a dermatology issue. I was completely happy to rearrange her appointment to ensure that she looked and felt her best for these fun and special photos. I have found that when you feel beautiful, it shows.

After the session, I go through the images with my clients and decide which photos to display. When you invest in professional photography, you should absolutely use and display the images in your everyday life. Whether you print your favorite portrait to use on a gallery wall in your home or use my services to create an heirloom album, I will be there for support. Maternity photos are especially fun to keep in a growing album. The baby in the photos will love to look back and see their mom pregnant with them. Follow these images with newborns and birthday portraits, and you will have a treasured family album that everyone will enjoy.
