Jessica + Damian Welcome Twins | Studio Newborn Photographer in New Jersey

All of my newborn portrait sessions are precious, but it is especially cute when there are twins in the studio. This upstate New York mom met her husband from Barcelona in New York City. They were overjoyed to become parents to their sweet little boy and girl.

Mom was looking for classic photos that documented the sweet newborn details and this fleeting moment in their family’s lives. She loved the simplicity of my work and knew that I could create the portraits that she had been envisioning. While we offer the studio wardrobe to all of our clients, this mom opted to wear her own clothes and decided not to do hair and makeup. She wanted to look natural and feel like herself. While I am always available to offer support to my clients, I am fully supportive of clients who decide to handle the details of the shoot themselves. The twins were dressed in adorable collared onesies with coordinating knit shorts and socks.

While there are added challenges to documenting twins, there are also benefits. I loved being able to photograph the sweet siblings together. The images that feature the twins’ connection and bond with each other are my favorites. We made sure to document the twins together and individually, as well as each parent with each baby.

Although we had twice as many subjects as a typical newborn portrait session, the process remained smooth and efficient. I keep the studio clean and calm with few distractions so that we can create those natural and authentic images. I have the areas that we will be photographing prepared before clients arrive and an order of poses in mind so that we can work with the baby’s schedule and mood. Parents do not need to worry about bringing anything if they do not want to. I have the studio stocked with diapers, wipes, outfits, blankets, and props if wanted. For clients using the studio wardrobe, everything will be cleaned and steamed prior to our session. I make the studio experience as simple and stress-free as possible. Your portrait session should be something that you, as parents, look forward to rather than dread. It should feel like a little break where you are spoiled and get to spoil your little one(s).
