Fun Fall Family Session | Verona Park

I am so excited to share the most magical fall family portrait session in Verona Park in Northern NJ. This photoshoot was the perfect combination of traditional portraits that are perfect for updating the family wall gallery, as well as lifestyle images that captured the joy, excitement, and wildness of life with little ones.

I always like to start by taking candids with my clients where I let the little ones play and get their energy and camera-shyness out. Once that's happened, I work towards some more traditional portraits. This provides parents with a variety of photographs to choose from with a mix of candid and posed images.

For sessions with two-year-olds, I give them as much power to direct the fun as possible. I offer suggestions, but always remain flexible and move on to another location, activity, or game if the toddler isn’t taking to the suggestion. I prep parents to expect this, and never try to force the toddler to do anything. Our goal is always for the toddler to have a GREAT time.

In this shoot we headed to an open field and did some tossing in the air (always a toddler favorite), chasing, playing, snuggling, etc, all in that beautiful golden sunset light. If you want to get that magical light at the end of your sessions, you need to schedule shoots for the last hour before sunset.

This is the last session of Jack’s Portrait Membership, which families can book if they'd like to reserve 3 or more sessions within an 18 month period. This membership is perfect for maternity, newborn, 3/4 months, 6/7 months, and first birthdays.

I’ve loved watching Jack grow from a beautiful, tiny newborn to a fun-loving toddler. Memberships are my favorite because each session is better than the last because the parents and I really know each other, which helps everyone relax and feel comfortable. This is how those magical moments happen during photoshoots!
