Clarissa and Dan's Studio Maternity Portraits

Clarissa and Dan reached out to me for maternity portraits as they awaited the arrival of their first baby. Dan is a future doctor whose schedule is quite busy and unpredictable. Luckily, I can be flexible with my appointments by only taking a certain number of clients each month and a very limited number of membership clients each year. We worked it out so that Dan could be present for the pre-session planning, the session itself, and the post-session viewing and design appointment. Having all decision making people present at the pre and post session appointments is critical to creating artwork that is perfect for the family.

For your first baby it’s particularly helpful to visit the studio for an in-person consultation prior to your maternity session. You will get to see the studio, try on items from my studio wardrobe, and get to know me so that you can be fully at ease on the day of your actual maternity session. Clarissa was so excited about the studio wardrobe. She knew she wanted a flowy dress but wasn’t sure where to rent one. The morning of her session I had my preferred hair and makeup artist prepare her at home, and when she and Dan arrived at the studio she found her wardrobe picks to be steamed and ready.

If you are lookin for a NJ photographer to document your pregnancy and expanding family my portrait membership is absolutely perfect. The membership is like a baby plan, which includes sessions to document all of the important moments of the baby’s first year, as well as credit to build a gorgeous heirloom album containing all your favorite images. This family will come back to the studio for a newborn session, a 6-month sitter session, and a first birthday session. Membership clients get to choose their locations for three of the four sessions, which includes the option for in-home newborn portraits and outdoor 6-month and/or birthday sessions.

Many families love the flexibility and savings of the membership, but I would say Studio sessions are the most popular because of how easy they make portraits for parents, and they create a consistent feel throughout the photos that looks beautiful in an album or on the walls of the home. When choosing locations, however, you really can’t go wrong with our membership if you are looking for a luxury-level maternity and newborn photography combination.

I absolutely loved documenting the beginning of Clarissa and Dan’s journey as parents, and I cannot wait for baby to arrive and create stunning family and newborn portraits for them soon.
