NHP's Celebrating Motherhood Event - Beautiful NYC Studio Portraits March 31, 2019
Nicole Hawkins Photograph is hosting its first ever Celebrating Motherhood Event!
Sunday, March 31, 2019
Come spend the morning at Nicole’s Upper West Side studio loving on your little ones while Nicole creates timeless, fun portraits. This is the only time of year Nicole offers mini sessions; this is the perfect opportunity to see why clients love working with Nicole, why they adore borrowing beautiful, high end clothing from the studio wardrobe, and why this UWS studio is the perfect space for timeless portraits with your littlest loves.
In addition to enjoying refreshments, wardrobe and a fun swag bag, Nicole’s preferred hair and makeup artist, Liza Ray, will be on site offering optional petite hair and makeup so you will look and feel your best during your session.
Registration closes Friday, March 22nd.

FAQ
Q: Tell me about the studio wardrobe. How does it work for an event like this?
A: I have 40+ dresses in a variety of sizes and styles, mostly in neutral colors such as cream, white and beige, but also soft blues, muted pinks and some floral patterns. Most work for both maternity, postpartum and every day mamas who want to feel beautiful and look stunning in their portraits. All outfits shown on this page are a part of the studio wardrobe and available for use. When you arrive at the Event, my assistant will help you decide on a dress that you will love. All dresses are dry cleaned before and after the Event, and after every full portrait session.
A selection of beautiful, classic baby and children’s clothes from the studio wardrobe will be available based on the ages and genders of children scheduled to be photographed.
Q: Can I wear my own clothes?
A: Yes, of course, but studio wardrobe will make your life easy and help achieve the type of photos you see here and in my portfolio. Studio wardrobe is a bit like rent the runway, but for portraits and included in your session fee whether booking this event or a full portrait session. It’s fun, it’s different, and you will look amazing. If you have a bolder style in mind, by all means, be you.
Q: How does hair and makeup work?
A: I highly recommend scheduling Liza’s optional petite hair and makeup for your session; professional hair and makeup bring your portraits to a whole other level and I can not emphasize enough how gorgeous individually applied high quality false lashes look in portraits. Liza is a celebrated wedding HMUA and master at making women look like the most beautiful versions of their natural selves. You can book her services through the questionnaire you will receive after booking. Petite hair and makeup at the Event includes eye makeup, lash application, brow, and choice of hairstyle (curls/waves, braid, or updo) for a fee of $125 paid directly to Liza at the Event.
If opting for hair and makeup, I recommend arriving at the Event approximately 40 minutes prior to your scheduled session start time so you can browse the studio wardrobe, get dressed, have some refreshments and have hair and makeup done. Hair and makeup take approximately 20 minutes.
Q: What do I do with my kids while getting hair and makeup done?
A: Babysitting is not provided for children during hair and makeup. I recommend your partner, another family member or a friend bring active children to the Studio 10-15 minutes prior to the session start time for wardrobe so that you can enjoy being pampered, which leads to relaxed, fun portraits. There is a playground across from the Studio in Central Park that could be a good option for children to get out some energy prior to their session if weather is pleasant. If you plan to bring your baby to hair & makeup, I recommend asking another care giver to come along in case baby gets fussy and needs to be walked around or otherwise soothed.
Q: Can my husband come and be in photos?
A: No, I’m sorry, but this event is to celebrate motherhood. If you are interested in a full family session, please reach out to inquire about a full portrait session. I hope to offer fatherhood sessions at some point in the future, but I do not at this time. If your family has two dads, please reach out and we can discuss.
Q: What if our family has two moms?
A: Please book two sessions (back to back) so each mom can have a mini session with her children.
Q: What if I’m pregnant?
A: Congratulations! Lucky you because this is your one opportunity to have a mini maternity session with Nicole Hawkins Photography. I’d love to meet you and create beautiful maternity portraits at the Celebrating Motherhood Event.
Q: What if I just had a baby?
A: Congratulations! If you have a newborn (0 to 2 months), I highly recommend booking a full portrait session so we can capture all the sweet details of your tiny new baby, as well as full family portraits you and your baby will love looking at years from now. Full portrait sessions also allow the necessary time to feed and sooth baby so we achieve the portraits you envision. With that said, please reach out via email or my contact form prior to booking the Event if you would like to participate and will have a baby under 2 months old on March 31st.
