Baby Ida's Studio Portraits | New Jersey Baby Portraits

Sweet Ida was the perfect age for classic studio baby portraits. Around 6-8 months old babies are able to confidently sit up on their own, and may even be starting to crawl if closer to the 8 month mark. It was so much fun to follow Ida around the studio and see her fun personality shine. Her mom works very hard in a busy career and wanted to document her third baby as she was growing and changing so quickly. That first year can truly fly by, and there is never a wrong time to schedule baby portraits. I will work to create beautiful images that complement whatever stage your little one is in, from newborn to toddler.

During our pre-session planning appointment, Mom told me that she wanted to keep the outfits simple for classic images that would look good on the walls of their home. I had her dress Ida in a white onesie and suggested that she wear something clean and classic like a white button-down and light jeans in case she decided to be in a few images. Ida was smiley and content during the entire session, but I still included her mama in this Celebration Session because I knew how special that would be for them both. As Ida is the third child, they may not have very many portraits of just the two of them without any other family members. I knew that these images of just Ida and her mom at this stage would be something that they could look back on together for years to come.

After Ida’s session, her mom booked a full family studio session for about six months later, in the fall. I cannot wait to work with the entire family. Once we have a variety of portraits to choose from, we will go through all of our favorite images from our sessions together to create a wall gallery that they will love looking at each day in their gorgeous South Orange, NJ, home. It will be fun to look up at these images side by side and see how much baby Ida has changed in only six months.
